The schematic structure of the “Satteltester” is to be seen above.
The measuring mat contains 256 of very flat
pressure sensors which are carefully inserted into the textile
envelope (a special combination of extremely hard-wearing
materials). The measuring mat is adapted to the anatomical form
of a horseback and rests upon - like a saddlecloth - anatomically
correctly. The sensors are connected by a cable with the
electronic in the "black box". The electronic is placed in a sturdy
plastic housing power supplied by four standard batteries.
The data of the pressure sensors are evaluated and digitized by the electronics. Over radio in industrial quality the data are sent to the computer (PC or laptop).
The software changes the pressure data into a
graphic picture and visualises them on the screen. The software does
also the parameterization of the pad, though the system can be
adapted to different requirements.
At the same time a synchronous video film with the diagram of the pressure distribution can be stored as *. avi over the PC. These photographs can be analysed later.
